Magdalena Majka

Magdalena Majka’s practice includes non-compete disputes, matters arising under the Louisiana Wage Payment Act, medical malpractice defense, product liability, and commercial litigation. She has a strong emphasis on legal research and writing, and she regularly drafts dispositive motions and appellate briefs in both Louisiana state and federal courts.

She is admitted in Louisiana.

Magdalena Majka’s practice is focused on legal research and writing, and she regularly drafts dispositive motions and appellate briefs in both Louisiana state and federal courts.  She has an exceptional understanding of the complex legal issues involved in medical and commercial litigation.  

Ms. Majka began her legal career in Poland and served as a judge in the Commercial Division of the District Court of Warsaw. Her work combines international legal experience with a deep understanding of U.S. procedural and substantive law, supporting clients and trial counsel in a wide range of complex matters.

Ms. Majka is a native speaker of Polish, fluent in English, and has basic knowledge of French.

  • Obtained a favorable settlement that allowed a former employee to continue working in their chosen field despite allegations of non-compete violations.
  • Co-defended an employee in a non-compete case, helping defeat a preliminary injunction and preserve the client’s right to work.
  • Lonesome Dev. v. Town of Abita Springs, 2025-00154 (La. May 29, 2025), 409 So.3d 743. Authored the successful writ application to the Louisiana Supreme Court in Lonesome Dev. v. Town of Abita Springs, which resulted in a per curiam decision reversing the First Circuit and vacating a contempt judgment against the Town’s mayor for lack of proper service.
