Congratulations to Partner, Chad Collings, who obtained a defense verdict for his client, St. Tammany Parish Sheriff Randy Smith, in a case in the 22nd Judicial District Court for St. Tammany Parish. The District Court Judge found that the Plaintiff, Fred Oswald, failed to show that Sheriff Randy Smith broke any law when he decided to fire but not arrest a Sheriff’s deputy who was accused of breaking the law. Fred Oswald alleged that he was fired in retaliation for his efforts to give information to the District Attorney about another Sheriff’s deputy who was accused of stealing drugs during traffic stops and then giving them to that officer’s addicted girlfriend and also using Sheriff’s Office resources to get information on men that the girlfriend was seeing.
Our Firm is very proud of Mr. Collings’ hard work for the Sheriff to try this case and obtain a defense verdict.
